Oil Paintings
When I paint in oil, I immerse myself in a fascinating process that allows me to express my thoughts and emotions on canvas. The first step is to select the colours and dilute them slightly with oil to achieve the desired consistency. I sketch a basic outline on the canvas to establish my composition and then paint the basic tones, concentrating on light and shadow. Oil has the advantage of being layer-able, which allows me to create depth and texture. With each brushstroke I feel connected with my work; it's like a conversation between me and the canvas. I experiment with different techniques, from smooth transitions to rough impasto.
The finishing touches, the layers and the details are always the most exciting. Once the painting is finished, it's time to dry, which is particularly challenging for me as I can't wait to see the result of my efforts. Each created piece is a unique reflection of my creativity and personal experience.
